Meet Dr. James Greenspon MD

Dr. Jim specializes in nutritional counseling and family medicine, inspired by his father and weight loss pioneer, Dr. Irwin Greenspon. He graduated from Indiana University (Go Hoosiers!) in 1981 and continued on to Indiana University School of Medicine in Indianapolis where he earned his MD degree in 1985. Dr. Jim completed a residency in family practice at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona.

Dr. Jim eagerly returned home to join his father's historic practice, established in 1949, where he acquired his father's time-tested wisdom and techniques. After helping countless people lose and maintain their weight, he has become an expert in the weight loss field.

To accommodate patients who were making a long drive to the main Lansing location, he added a satellite office in Northfield in 2016 that is easily accessible near interstate 94. Both Lansing and Northfield welcome walk-ins, though appointments are recommended for beauty procedures.

He also continually adds new products, technology, and other services to give patients even more options to feel good about themselves in one location, including the most popular weight loss treatments, GLP-1 medications, Botox, fillers, laser treatments for skin, Emsculpt, peels, medical grade skincare products, and so much more!

Dr. Jim always brings a sense of humor and warmth with him to work each day and is easy to talk to. And he loves when patients return the favor and crack their own jokes. He also takes a thoughtful and caring approach to practicing medicine that is increasingly harder to find in most places healthcare is sought.

He loves learning languages and is multilingual! Dr. Greenspon speaks German, Spanish, and French, and knows a bit in many other languages thanks to his patients who teach him new words.

Some of his favorite things in life are the simple things. When he isn't working, he can be found taking long walks, playing pickle ball, doing his best to keep up with the latest music (perhaps more so than his kids), and looking forward to his next Caesar salad, with balsamic vinaigrette substituted for Caesar dressing of course! He also never skips his morning fitness routine of floor exercises and resistance bands. What can we say, he practices what he preaches!

Meet Our Staff

Our experienced staff ensures a thorough visit leaving each patient well-informed about the importance of proper nutrition and exercise. They recognize the daily struggles, hectic schedules, and fast-paced environment in which we all live, listening, evaluating, and formulating a strategy that will assist patients in achieving their weight-related, health, and aesthetic goals. Each staff member brings their own unique perspective to the practice. We also have multiple aesthetic nurse injectors on staff who are trained in beauty procedures like Botox, fillers, and fat dissolvers. We welcome walk-ins but prefer appointments for beauty procedures to make sure time is reserved for you.

I am a board certified family nurse practitioner with a passion for wellness and fitness. I graduated from Brigham Young University-Idaho in 2011 with my RN and from West Virginia University in 2022 with my Masters in Nursing. Most of my career has been in emergency medicine where I learned the importance of preventing illnesses before they lead to serious complications. I enjoy counseling patients on nutrition and exercise as well as other healthy lifestyle changes.

I've been a nurse practitioner for 3 years, with 6 years of previous experience nursing experience in internal medicine, dermatology, newborn health, and COVID crisis response. I love working as an NP and helping others. Outside of work, I'm a new mom and love spending time with my little family. I also enjoy being outdoors--running, hiking, biking, reading, as well as traveling and exploring new places with the ones I love.

With nearly 14 years of experience at Greenspon Medical & Aesthetics, I enjoy managing and overseeing various aspects of operations to ensure everything runs smoothly. In addition to my managerial role, I am an Emsculpt specialist, helping clients achieve muscle toning and body sculpting, while on their weight loss journey. My outgoing personality, attention to detail, and strong organizational skills complement my pharmaceutical knowledge, making Greenspon Medical the ideal environment for my passion for health and wellness. Outside of work, I love time spent with family, especially my three wonderful grandchildren. I also enjoy traveling, biking, dining out, and shopping. I'm fortunate that my husband shares most of these same interests.

I've been an RN for over 30 years. My career consisted of bedside to management in a hospital atmosphere. I started working for Dr. Greenspon when I was looking for a change or an escape from the hospital. It's been refreshing working with a great team and patients who are pleasant and grateful for any assistance. Outside of work, I have enjoyable Nana duties, love to bike ride, and take frequent pickleball lessons with the hope that one day I'll actually be good at the game.

I began working for Greenspon Medical & Aesthetics after deciding that I was not ready for retirement. I have experience in Allergy/Asthma, OB/Gyne, Endocrinology, and Internal Medicine. I must admit, working for Dr. Greenspon has been the best job in my nursing career because I have had the opportunity to work with a wonderful doctor and staff. In addition, it is a privilege getting to know each of our patients and helping them achieve their health goals. On the personal side, I am a mother of two daughters and six grandchildren. I am also a "mom" to five very energetic schnauzers. In my spare time, I am an avid gardener, and the garden is where one will find me in pleasant weather.

My name is Melanie and I'm a proud Chicago area native. I got my masters in nursing at DePaul University in 2018 and have several years of experience in aesthetic nursing as well as pediatric care. I love working with the close-knit team of women at Greenspon Medical & Aesthetics and enjoy taking care of our patients' health, wellness, and aesthetic needs. In addition to my role at Greenspon Medical, my husband and I own an overnight summer camp in Wisconsin where I get to spend my summers running the health center.

In my free time, I enjoy playing music and keeping up with the latest medical research.
